I am seeing a major shift in how software is being built. Currently, 29.5% of all new projects I track include AI-specific features or branding.

With 2895 AI-focused projects versus 6907 traditional tools, it is clear that AI is becoming a standard feature in new software. If you are building today, it is important to consider how AI might impact your industry.

3. Project Naming Strategies.

A product's name can impact its recognizability and cost. The data shows that 0 projects secured domains with 5 characters or fewer.

On the other hand, the 9802 products with longer, descriptive names (over 10 characters) often use their titles to explain exactly what they do. This is a common strategy to help users find the project through search results without requiring a short, expensive domain.

4. When Projects are Shared.

Software launches often follow a weekly pattern. The data shows that Sunday is the most popular day for sharing new projects, while Thursday is the least active.

Launching on a Sunday means you will be surrounded by many other new projects. While there are more users active, there is also more noise. Sharing on a Thursday might make it easier for your project to stand out, even if the total audience is smaller.

5. Monthly Launch Activity.

Tracking launch activity over time helps identify long-term trends in the software industry.

In the most recent month, I recorded 3378 new projects. This represents a growth in activity compared to the previous month (3347 projects).
